<p data-path-to-node="3,0"><b>Lahj Governorate will witness the implementation of a package of housing, service, and agricultural projects during 2026 and 2027. These include the restoration of 160 damaged homes in Al-Hawta city, along with interventions to develop water and irrigation infrastructure and enhance resilience to climate change.</b></p><p data-path-to-node="3,0"><span style="font-size: 1rem;"><b>These interventions include the rehabilitation of sewage treatment plants in Al-Wahatt and Tahror, the establishment of specialized water testing laboratories, and the construction of collection tanks to support water security. Additionally, the operation of water wells in Al-Hawta, Al-Wahatt, and Al-Mahalla will be converted to solar power.</b></span></p><p data-path-to-node="3,0"><span style="font-size: 1rem;"><b>In the agricultural sector, projects include the rehabilitation of irrigation canals and the protection of agricultural lands and facilities in the Tuban Delta from flood risks. This also includes the construction of concrete gabion retaining walls to reduce erosion and promote the sustainability of agricultural activity. These interventions are being implemented with support from the Climate Fund and the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat).</b></span></p>
