two integrated development projects with a combined value of SAR 7.4 million,
aimed at improving the efficiency and sustainability of water services and
upgrading the city’s urban water infrastructure.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" dir="LTR" style="line-height: normal; direction: ltr; unicode-bidi: embed;">The intervention includes a SAR 3.5 million Urban Water
Systems Enhancement Project, launched by the Saudi Development and
Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) in partnership with Silah Foundation
for Development, alongside an integrated development project financed by the Crisis
and Support Center of the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" dir="LTR" style="line-height: normal; direction: ltr; unicode-bidi: embed;">The projects were launched in the presence of Tawfiq
Al-Sharjabi, Minister of Water and Environment; Mohammed Al-Faqmi, Minister of
Planning and International Cooperation; Ambassador Mohammed Al Jaber, General
Supervisor of SDRPY; Catherine Kammon, Ambassador of France to Yemen; and Ali
Bashmakh, Executive Director of Silah Foundation for Development.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" dir="LTR" style="line-height: normal; direction: ltr; unicode-bidi: embed;">The projects aim to accelerate implementation on the ground
and contribute to the provision of safe water and sanitation services,
benefiting more than 139,000 people directly and 242,000 indirectly.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" dir="LTR" style="line-height: normal; direction: ltr; unicode-bidi: embed;">The Saudi-French cooperation represents an integrated development
approach to addressing water and urban infrastructure challenges in Taiz, with
a focus on improving service efficiency, strengthening sustainability, and
supporting the resilience of local water systems.<o:p></o:p></p>
