<p data-path-to-node="7,0"><b>The World Health Organization (WHO) has expanded the scope of its operational and emergency response plan in Yemen, in coordination with the Ministry of Public Health and Population and Health Cluster partners, to cover the growing needs across 11 governorates affected by the field escalation and displacement waves.</b></p><p data-path-to-node="7,1"><b>Logistical assistance and supplies included distributing 2,270 metric tons of medicines, medical, and surgical supplies to main hospitals and reference centers, in addition to securing operational fuel for 32 vital health facilities to ensure uninterrupted life-saving medical care.</b></p><p data-path-to-node="7,2"><b>The field response package also encompassed supporting 12 multi-disciplinary surgical teams, activating 27 diarrhea and epidemic treatment centers, performing over 5,185 emergency surgeries, and treating more than 33,000 patients.</b></p><p data-path-to-node="7,3"><b>As part of proactive response and preparedness, WHO announced maintaining a 60-day emergency reserve stock of supplies and designating Mukalla as an alternative logistical and referral hub to secure safe supply routes via Hadramaut and the Sultanate of Oman, preventing disruptions to existing supply lines.</b></p>
